About Ali Araghi, MD
Physician · Educator · Lifelong Learner
I am a physician-educator with clinical interests spanning internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care, sleep medicine, and obesity medicine. My teaching focuses on connecting physiology and pathophysiology with practical bedside decision-making and evidence-based care.

My Background
I am a board-certified physician with more than 30 years of clinical, teaching, and research experience. My work spans internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care, sleep medicine, and obesity medicine. I founded Auria Medical Clinics in 2015 and continue to practice hospital-based pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine while serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Georgia College of Medicine, Augusta University.
My postgraduate training includes Internal Medicine residency and fellowship training in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Wayne State University. Earlier academic appointments included faculty roles at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, and Des Moines University. Across these settings, teaching has remained a central part of my career—from pathophysiology and evidence-based medicine to bedside rounds, respiratory physiology, mechanical ventilation, and clinical reasoning.
My scholarly interests center on physiology-driven clinical care, sepsis and hemodynamics, respiratory failure, sleep-disordered breathing, obesity medicine, and medical decision-making. Recent work includes the 2026 narrative review Precision Fluid Therapy in Sepsis: Fluid Responsiveness vs Fluid Tolerance, published in Frontiers in Medicine.
